Seeking Safety groups provide a safe treatment environment for women affected
by abuse and trauma. Treatment is cognitive-behaviorally based and also
addresses substance use issues for women with addiction histories.
Trauma Process Group
Tuesday 3:30pm
This group is most appropriate for women who have achieved some stability
in their recovery from trauma and/or addiction, and who feel ready to explore
issues related to their abuse with more depth.
Anger
Management Group
Fridays 12:30pm
Group provides tools to help participants understand and effectively cope
with conflict and anger, which can trigger both trauma memories and substance
abuse cravings.
Skills
DBT Group
Mondays 12pm
This dialectical behavioral therapy group teaches interpersonal effectiveness,
emotion regulation, and distress tolerance/reality acceptance and mindfulness
skills.
Writing
Group
Wednesdays 4:00pm
The writing process can heal, foster resilience, and enable insight. This
group will provide writing exercises and the opportunity to share in a structured
environment.
Medication
Management/Health Group
Fridays 11am
Addresses patients' concerns related to medication and health issues. Co-lead
by the Medical Director and Social Work Supervisor.
Stress
Management Group
Mondays 9:50am
Provides tips and coaching associated with relaxation, stress reduction,
and anxiety management.
Sexuality Group
Thursday 11-12
This group provides an opportunity for women to explore how their past experiences
of trauma and abuse may be impacting their sexuality now. A variety of topics
related to sexuality and relationships are also addressed. Women of all
sexual orientations are welcome.

Mothers Group
To Be Announced
Participants learn parenting skills and receive parenting support, in the
context of meeting challenges posed by their own histories of trauma and
abuse.
The
Women's Health Project provides a supportive, multi-modal outpatient treatment
environment, including group and/or individual psychotherapy and pharmacotherapy,
for women suffering from trauma or childhood abuse who may also use drugs
or alcohol. The focus of the treatment is on creating safety by addressing
anxiety, mood, and other symptoms.
