Dr. Litt is a Clinical Psychologist and is Clinical Director of the Women's Health Project Treatment and Research Center, where she oversees the program's clinical services and professional training. She is also Assistant Clinical Professor of Medical Psychology in Psychiatry at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons and has served as an Adjunct Professor of Psychology and Education at Columbia University Teachers College. Dr. Litt has expertise working with individuals traumatized in childhood or adulthood and is trained in several methods developed specifically for the treatment of trauma. She has been director, trainer and supervisor of numerous psychotherapy studies funded by the National Institute on Drug Abuse and the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism exploring effective treatments for Posttraumatic Stress Disorder and co-occurring substance use disorders for women. She has recently co-authored a book entitled Trauma Services for Women in Substance Abuse Treatment. Her e-mail address is:chaward@chpnet.org Dr. Francisco is a licensed Clinical Psychologist and is a Supervising Psychologist at the Women's Health Project. Dr. Francisco is also the Assistant Director of the Mental Health & Substance Abuse Counseling Concentration at the New School for Social Research. As part of the Women's Health Project, Dr. Francisco conducts individual and group therapy, and also supervises psychology trainees. She is affiliated with the School for Compassionate Action, which promotes the integration of mind-body practices in the treatment of psychological conditions. Dr. Francisco specializes in the treatment of individuals with a history of trauma who also struggle with addiction issues and works from an integrative perspective that incorporates aspects of cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness-based cognitive therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and motivational interviewing. She provides clinical services as well as professional training to graduate students during their clinical externships. Dr. Levine received her M.A. and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Fairleigh Dickinson University. She previously worked as the Senior Social Worker at the Community Counseling and Mediation Mental Health and Substance Abuse Clinics practicing individual and family therapy with children, adolescents and adults. She has also been Clinical Social Worker at Long Island College Hospital Rape Crisis Intervention/Victims of Violence Program practicing individual and group therapy to survivors of rape, incest, and domestic violence and worked in the hospital's Emergency Department providing crisis intervention and advocacy to survivors of rape and domestic violence. Dr. Hien is a professor of Clinical Psychology at City College and maintains an appointment as a senior research scientist in the Department of Psychiatry at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. She is the founding executive director of the Women's Health Project. Over the past 16 years with funding from the National Institute on Drug Abuse, Office of Research on Women's Health, and National Institute on Alcoholism and Alcohol Abuse, she and her team have conducted research that has helped to characterize the psychosocial and diagnostic correlates of interpersonal violence among inner-city minority women and their families. She has also contributed to science on the treatment of trauma-related disorders with substance comorbidities, conducting single and multi-site clinical trials across the United States in community based substance abuse treatment settings. She has authored, co-authored and presented extensively in scientific journals, and at national and international conferences. Dr. Hien is considered a leader in the field of women's trauma and addiction treatment. She has been a member of NIDA's Asian Pacific Islanders Scholars Workgroup since 1999, and she has sponsored and mentored numerous pre- and post-doctoral minority researchers in their long-term health disparities career development. She has recently co-authored a book entitled Trauma Services for Women in Substance Abuse Treatment. Dr. Hien can be reached at: dah26@columbia.edu Dr. Cohen is an adjunct Clinical Supervisor at WHP and has served as WHP Research Program Director, overseeing the development and ongoing activities of projects in the WHP research program. Dr. Cohen received clinical and research training at Yale University and Cornell University Medical College. She is a licensed Clinical Psychologist who has participated in and coordinated a variety of NIMH-funded treatment trials (e.g. PTSD, binge eating disorder, depression and anxiety disorders). She has expertise working with women who have PTSD related to chronic abuse beginning in childhood and is a co-author of a treatment manual for this population, Treating Survivors of Childhood Abuse. She has also co-authored a book entitled Trauma Services for Women in Substance Abuse Treatment. Dr. Cohen has a private practice based in New York City. She is trained in exposure therapy for trauma related disorders as well as cognitive-behavioral and interpersonal psychotherapy for anxiety, depression and eating disorders.
